Capital One Rebrands Spark Miles: Meet the New Venture Business Cards (150k Bonus!)
Capital One is streamlining its business credit card lineup with a major rebranding that aligns its business offerings with its popular consumer “Venture” family. Effective immediately, the Spark Miles brand is being retired in favor of Venture Business.
Along with the new names, Capital One has dropped a massive limited-time signup bonus and added new annual credits that help offset the cost of carrying the card. Here’s everything you need to know about the transition and the new offers.
The Big Rebrand: What’s Changed?
The names are new, but the core earning structures remain familiar for those who knew the Spark Miles lineup:
- Spark Miles is now Venture Business ($95 annual fee).
- Spark Miles Select is now VentureOne Business (No annual fee).
1. Venture Business ($95 Annual Fee)
The flagship “Spark Miles” card gets more than just a name change. It now features two new annual credits and a lower spending requirement for its top-tier bonus.
- The Bonus: Earn up to 150,000 miles.
- 75,000 miles after spending $7,500 in the first 3 months.
- An additional 75,000 miles after spending $30,000 total in the first 6 months.
- Annual Credits: * $50 Capital One Business Travel Credit: Valid for bookings made through the Capital One portal.
- $50 Advertising or Software Credit: Applicable to select categories (useful for subscriptions like ChatGPT or business software).
- Earnings: Unlimited 2X miles on every purchase; 5X miles on hotels and rental cars via Capital One Travel.
- Perks: Up to $120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit.
Note: Unlike the old Spark Miles card, the $95 annual fee is not waived for the first year on the Venture Business. However, the $100 in new annual credits effectively makes this a “net-zero” fee card if you utilize the benefits.
2. VentureOne Business (No Annual Fee)
This remains the straightforward, entry-level option for businesses looking to earn travel rewards without an annual overhead.
- The Bonus: 50,000 bonus miles after spending $4,500 in the first 3 months.
- Earnings: Unlimited 1.5X miles on every purchase; 5X miles on hotels and rental cars via Capital One Travel.
Important Update: Personal Credit Reporting
One of the biggest questions for business owners is whether these cards report to personal credit bureaus, which can impact your personal debt-to-income ratio and 5/24 status.
Early data suggests that the new Venture Business card may follow in the footsteps of the Venture X Business and Spark Cash Plus by not reporting to personal credit bureaus (unless you fall behind on payments). This is a massive win for business owners who want to keep their business expenses separate from their personal credit profiles.
Our Verdict: Is it worth it?
The new 150k bonus on the Venture Business is significantly more attainable than previous 150k offers, which often required $50,000+ in spend. While the $95 fee is no longer waived the first year, the addition of the $100 in annual credits ($50 travel + $50 software) actually makes the card more valuable for long-term holders.
If you’ve been waiting for a high-value entry point into the Capital One business ecosystem, this 150k offer is likely the best we will see for a while.
